BGC ices gambling talk on football social media sites
By admin | | 0 Comments |

The UK Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) is asking football clubs to refrain from discussing and promoting gambling on their social media sites in as part of an effort to avoid triggering problem gamblers. It’s move that may seem extreme to the layman, but will likely help keep UK gambling operators a step ahead of UK gambling regulators. Guidelines for how football clubs should handle discussions of gambling were sent out by the BGC late last week and utilize a plea from 50 former gambling addicts to make the case. They pointed out that seeing their favorite club site promoting gambling caused them “distress” and “encouraged” them to place wagers. As an effort to avoid these triggering moments, the BGC is recommending that football clubs refrain from promoting gambling operators or bonus offers and their “organic tweets”. This is a nod to the reality that gambling offers are ubiquitous on social media and that no one is really more than a click or two away from them on the internet anyways. BGC officials sent a letter detailing the new code of conduct to 11 football clubs, as well as to social media operators. In a statement reported on by SBC News, Brigid Simmonds OBE, Chairman of the BGC described the importance of the new standards saying, “Our members rightly have a zero tolerance approach to gambling by under-18s, so as an industry we are understandably concerned that children may be exposed to betting adverts on social media platforms. Our new guidelines make clear the standards expected of football clubs when they post gambling promotions on social media, and I look forward to them being put into practice as soon as possible.” The BGC guidelines are not legally binding, but members of the BGC who wish to remain in good standing are expected to abide by them. NHL Prediction: Los Angeles Kings vs Minnesota Wild on 16.02.2021 North America, on 17.02.2021 Europe
By admin | | 0 Comments |

On February 17, Los Angeles and Minnesota will meet for the fifth time this season. Our experts have prepared a prediction for this NHL match. Will the Kings show excellent performance at the home arena? Los Angeles Kings Los Angeles was still able to end their losing streak, which reached five matches. The team defeated San Jose in the return leg 6-2. For the first time this season, the Kings have managed to score so many goals. Defender Drew Doughty is worth noting for three assists. In the first match with the Sharks, they had excellent chances of winning but conceded a minute before the end of the meeting and then lost in a shootout (3-4). Due to their volatility, Los Angeles has earned just 11 points in 13 games and is ranked last in the Western Division. Minnesota Wild Minnesota played a six-game home series where they could exchange victories with San Jose, Los Angeles and Colorado. After that, the team met Avalanche again on the road and this time lost 1-2. In general, the team showed a good game, but there was a little lack of using their chances in the offence. This season, the Wild played only 11 matches, gaining 12 points, which is a decent result. Because the rest of the Western Division clubs played much more games, then Minnesota has every chance to rise from the table’s penultimate line. Los Angeles Kings – Minnesota Wild prediction Los Angeles suffers from instability throughout the season. For this reason it is too dangerous to bet on his victory. The teams have already played four head-to-head matches this year, three of which went to Minnesota’s piggy bank. The Wild continue to look much more confident than their opponent, so the best possible bet is Minnesota Wild to win again.

Olympic swimming medalist charged with running alleged Australia drugs syndicate
By admin | | 0 Comments |

Former Australian swimming star Scott Miller was arrested on drugs charges in a dawn raid at his home Tuesday, with Sydney police alleging the Olympic medalist heads a gang supplying methamphetamine across New South Wales state, CNN affiliate Nine News reported.A police statement on the arrests, which did not name Miller, 45, said detectives charged two men as part of ongoing investigations into the supply of more than 2 million Australian dollars (about $1.56 million) worth of meth concealed in candles."For all intents and purposes, they looked like regular candles but they weren't laced with fragrance, they were laced with death and misery," said Detective John Watson, according to Nine News.Miller's arrest is part of a larger investigation. Earlier this year, New South Wales authorities began looking into a criminal syndicate involved in the supply of illegal drugs, mostly meth, across the state, according to the police statement.📷📷Australian police seize record-breaking $820 milllion methamphetamine haulDuring the bust at Miller's home in Sydney's Rozelle neighborhood, police officers seized one kilogram (about 2.2 pounds) of heroin with a street value of $250,000 Australian dollars (about $195,000), the statement said. They also sized cell phones, documents, smaller amounts of drugs, and the equivalent of nearly $60,000 in cash, which will all be taken for forensic examination.Miller, identified in the statement only as "the Rozelle man," was charged with supplying prohibited drugs and directing the criminal group."He is calling the shots, he is the head of that syndicate and others are working under his instructions," Watson said.Police said further charges are expected to be laid.Miller, a Sydney native, began competing internationally in 1994, and won a silver and bronze medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics.

UCF football: Knights expected to hire former Auburn coach Gus Malzahn
By admin | | 0 Comments |

Does adding Gus Malzahn as their new head coach give the Knights rightful claim to a National Title? All jokes aside, Central Florida was caught off-guard this offseason when they lost both their Athletic Director (Danny White) and former head coach (Josh Heupel) to the Tennessee Volunteers football program. While the Vols possess the allure of the SEC, UCF can offer regular contention in the AAC, and the best recruiting grounds in football. At least, that was the selling point to former Auburn head man Malzahn, who now takes on his own reclamation project of sorts, according to Pete Thamel of Sports Illustrated.Malzahn brings his own pedigree to Central Florida, as he has a National Title appearance and a 68-35 overall record to show for his time at Auburn. That included a 39-27 mark in the SEC. Not bad for the team on The Plains. However, the Tigers soured on Malzahn after several sub-par seasons didn’t fit their newfound expectations. What can Gus Malzahn bring to Central FloridaMalzahn will instantly bring more name notoriety to a school that’s quickly rising up the ranks as a football powerhouse. Despite their constant Twitter trolling of Alabama, UCF really hasn’t been given the chance to prove themselves with the big guns, specifically in a potential College Football Playoff berth. While we could argue for days about whether any Group-of-5 team will make the Playoff while it remains at just four teams, Malzahn has at the very least been to the pinnacle of college football in the past. If there is a path for UCF to reach that point, he’ll find it. He has the map.In the end, UCF remains one of the best non-Power 5 jobs in the sport. Yet, in Heupel’s last few seasons in Orlando, the Knights struggled to meet their once-proud expectations. Just last year, they went 6-4, a far cry from their 12-0 2017-18 campaign which ended in a Peach Bowl win over…Auburn. Imagine that.Leave it to college football for things to come full circle. For more NCAA football news, analysis, opinion and unique coverage by FanSided, including Heisman Trophy and College Football Playoff rankings, be sure to bookmark these pages.

2021 Australian Open: What to Watch on Tuesday Night
By admin | | 0 Comments |

Rod Laver Arena | 11 p.m. TuesdayAndrey Rublev vs. Daniil MedvedevAndrey Rubley and Daniil Medvedev secured the ATP Cup for Russia earlier this month, with neither player losing a singles match throughout. In their three meetings on the ATP Tour, Medvedev has come out on top each time, including in the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open in September. This may be Rublev’s chance to finally overcome his friendly rival. He has looked particularly dominant, not dropping a set throughout the tournament. His match against Casper Ruud ended after only two sets when the Norwegian withdrew with an injury. Going into the quarterfinals, Rublev has led the field in both percentage of first service points won and second service points won, a sign of how hard it has been for opponents to break his serve.Medvedev has also been playing well, aside from a chaotic, disorganized third round match against Filip Krajinovic. He has now won 18 matches in a row, with his last loss coming in October at a tournament in Vienna. Although the fast surface fits Medvedev’s flat baseline shots, Rublev’s open stance is well suited in defense, and we’re sure to see many dynamic, aggressive point.Rod Laver Arena | 3:30 a.m. WednesdayRafael Nadal vs. Stefanos TsitsipasRafael Nadal, the No. 2 seed, has moved smoothly through the first four rounds, no surprise for a player with 20 Grand Slam titles. Although Nadal won his only Australian Open title over a decade ago, he has reached the finals on four other occasions since, and is a clear favorite in his half of the draw to do so again. Nadal’s powerful topspin shots are well-suited to clay courts where he can drag opponents around with tightly angled shots. Nadal’s ability to exploit his opponent’s weaknesses with relentless pressure can break most players on their best days.Stefanos Tsitsipas, the ATP finals winner in 2019, is a study in unpredictability. The fifth seed has a capable all-court game, but lacks the consistency to execute match after match. The 22-year-old has worked to improve this aspect of his game, but needed five sets to push back unseeded Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round. After receiving a walkover in the round of 16, Tsitsipas will be well rested and hoping for an advantage against one of the most mentally tough players on tour.

Win a Share of $1.5 Million in PokerStars’ Tetris® Spin & Go Games
By admin | | 0 Comments |

February 16, 2021 Matthew Pitt Tetris® combines with Spin & Go tournaments at PokerStars in a fun promotion that sees $1.5 million paid out between February 15 and March 28. Head to the Spin & Go lobby in the PokerStars client and you’ll see there are Tetris® Spin & Go games with buy-ins of $0.25, $1, $2, $5, $10, $25, $50, $100, $250, and $500. They all play out the exact same way as a traditional Spin & Go, meaning they’re three-handed hyper-turbo tournaments where the prize pool is randomly determined before the first hand is dealt. It’s still possible to win up to $1 million in some of these game, but there are a few notable differences. First, the virtual felt is made up of Tetris® blocks, which actually looks pretty cool. Also, the dealer button is now a Tetris® block too, and other blocks fall down the screen. The Tetris® part of the promotion comes in the form of leaderboards. There’s a separate leaderboard for each Tetris® Spin & Go buy-in level, so 10 in total. You need to opt-in and then fire up some Tetris® Spin & Go tournaments. Play your tournaments as you would ordinarily, but do so knowing the aim of the game is to clear lines, just like in Tetris®. The number of lines you clear depends on your Spin & Go multiplier and your finishing position in the tournament. Your level increases each time you clear five lines. This results in you earning even more points so you can climb up your leaderboard faster. The 2021 Guide to PokerStars Spin and Go Poker How Many Lines Do I Clear?  1st2nd3rd 2x432 3x321 Over 3x211 As you can see from the table above, finishing in 1st place in a Tetris® Spin & Go that has a 2x multiplier clears four lines. Just playing a tournament earns you points. How Do You Earn Points? The number of leaderboard points you earn is based on your finishing position and your current level. You start off earning 40 points for clearing one line when you’re at Level 0, but this increases to 840 points if you manage to climb to Level 20, which is the highest level you can achieve. It is possible to earn up to 25,200 points per Tetris® Spin & Go tournament, as you can see in this table. The $0.25, $1, $2, and $5 leaderboard payout the top 100 points earners, so you have a decent chance of walking away with a cash prize. PokerStars calls it the Playing Field. Just like in a game of Tetris® where it is Game Over when the blocks reach the top of the screen, it can be game over for you if you go on a streak of out of the money finishes! Finishing in first place either improves your Playing Field status or makes zero change to it. Finish in second place, however, and your Playing Field status either stays the same or actually worsens, which is also the case when you finish in third place. Your table, or playing field, is green in color when your Playing Field is in a good state. It turns amber when it is worsening and turns red when you’re in big trouble. Failing to win when your playing field is red could see you reach Game Over which means you cannot earn any more leaderboard points until the next day! Is Hellmuth vs Negreanu happening?
By admin | | 0 Comments |

We recap some stories you may have missed including a huge PKO event and how much of himself is Landon Tice playing for? KidPoker vs the Poker Brat? We hinted at it last week and now it seems confirmed that Daniel Negreanu and Phil Hellmuth will play heads-up.  Given both men are traditionally live players it seems inevitable that it will be face to face and streamed on PokerGO.  The early betting markets have suggested Hellmuth is the favourite, which seems ludicrous given how much Negreanu improved in his heads-up challenge against Doug Polk.  Happy to play anyone on @PokerGo App’s “High Stakes Duel.” Looks like they are bringing me the GREAT Daniel Negreanu @RealKidPoker, the guy that studied heads up for months w coaches I respect, so be it. It will be a great challenge for me! Hoping I don’t look like THIS photo!! pic.twitter.com/EpE1BqRMWP — phil_hellmuth (@phil_hellmuth) February 13, 2021 Tice has skin in the game The other big heads-up match in the works is Landon Tice vs Bill Perkins, and it has been the subject of a lot of debate this last week. Namely, how much does the poker wunderkind Landon Tice have invested in himself? Rumours circulated that he is playing for just 10% of himself in this challenge where he is already paying Bill Perkins $720,000 to play.  Tice confirmed that he has sold a lot of action for this event but while his percentage is low, it still means he has a lot of his net worth on the line: Let me make something clear that I'm sure everyone cares about regarding my challenge with @bp22 I'm selling a lot of action for it. A lot.I'm not rolled to battle at nosebleeds. However, I am putting a very large amount of my relative net worth on myself winning it. — Landon (@LandonTice) February 11, 2021 MicroMillions the biggest PKO ever? The MicroMillions Main Event was a PKO for the first time in its history and it (probably) automatically became the biggest field ever for a progressive knockout tournament.  49,487 entries for the $22 Main Event, which was not quite enough to hit the $1 million guarantee.  It did lead to one player bagging almost $60,000 for their troubles including $18,651.13 in bounties alone: The final table Table stakes only OK, so this week's meme classic from Reddit beats all those 'toilet roll poker home game' jokes from last year: When Polaks Play Poker from r/poker Will we see Hellmuth vs Negreanu heads-up? Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes has perfect tweet to begin huge offseason
By admin | | 0 Comments |

Photo by Jamie Squire/Getty ImagesUCF football: Knights expected to hire former Auburn coach Gus Malzahn by Mark Powell Patrick Mahomes social media game has been nonexistent the past few days, and for good reason.Mahomes is recovering from offseason surgery to his foot, in which he suffered turf toe in the lead-up to Super Bowl 55. The superhuman quarterback came up well short of his lofty goals for the 2020-21 season, and now must face the consequences of an offseason in preparation for the unknown.Mahomes isn’t going anywhere, of course. But Brett Veach will make necessary changes to better his team. It’s an absolute must moving forward, and something the Chiefs will have a hard time doing given their current salary cap situation. Per most outlets, the Chiefs are somewhere near $20 million in the red, which makes dreams of retaining the majority of their talent and adding a guy like JJ Watt a pipe dream.Mahomes is ready for the offseason, and the challenges it brings with itIf there’s anything scarier than a normal Patrick Mahomes, it’s an angry, motivated Patrick Mahomes, and that’s exactly what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have unleashed upon the football world.Kansas City wasn’t at full strength for Super Bowl 55, making any indictment of their long-term gameplan under Andy Reid and Eric Bieniemy unfair. The Chiefs know exactly what they’re doing, but perhaps building some legitimate depth at the line of scrimmage would benefit them. Injuries happen, especially for players who are constantly in vulnerable positions, and offensive linemen know this more than anyone.Kansas City’s best motive will be to build through the NFL Draft. This is where they’ll find the most talent for a relatively cheap asking price. Adding veterans to Mahomes’ arsenal will be far tougher unless they’re willing to sign at a discount, which we have seen in the past.

Sensational Serena through to Osaka showdown
By admin | | 0 Comments |

Serena Williams came through a huge test of her Australian Open title credentials to beat Simona Halep in a high quality quarter-final and reach the last four at Melbourne Park for the ninth time; The 39-year-old American will next face Naomi Osaka for a place in Saturday's final Last Updated: 16/02/21 10:31am Serena Williams defeated Simona Halep to reach the semi-finals of the Australian Open Serena Williams turned back the clock to make it through to the Australian Open semi-finals where she set up a blockbuster clash against Naomi Osaka. Williams made it through to her 40th Grand Slam semi-final after gaining revenge for her Wimbledon final loss to Simona Halep.Halep produced a sensational performance to stun Williams 6-2 6-2 at the All England Club in 2019 - one of four Grand Slam finals the American has lost since winning her 23rd singles title in Melbourne four years ago. Williams began this match with a determination to ensure there was no repeat and powered her way to a 6-3 6-3 victory. Williams gained revenge for her Wimbledon final loss to Halep Williams, who mixed 24 winners with 33 unforced errors over the contest, has not won a major since her seventh Australian Open triumph in 2017 and next faces in-form Japanese third seed Naomi Osaka with a place in the final on the line.In her on-court interview, Williams said: "I definitely think this is the best match this tournament and obviously I had to go up against the number two in the world. I knew that I had to do better and that's what I did, so I'm excited."The quality of the second set did not match the first, with Williams making a host of unforced errors, but Halep could not take advantage. The best I have seen @serenawilliams play in years! Movement and defensive skills were impressive. Huge semifinal vs @naomiosaka. Whoever wins this one in my opinion goes on to win the title.— Greg Rusedski (@GregRusedski1) February 16, 2021 Osaka will not be so generous in what will be a first Grand Slam meeting between the pair since their notorious US Open final in 2018, when Williams received a game penalty for verbally abusing umpire Carlos Ramos and Osaka's first major title was accompanied by deafening boos and whistles.Since then the Japanese player has won two more major titles and is unbeaten on the biggest stage since last year's Australian Open. 52 - Chris Evert44 - Martina Navratilova40 - Serena Williams37 - Steffi Graf Williams (left) receives congratulations at the net from Halep Williams shot out of the blocks on Tuesday, moving into a 2-0 lead with a combination of extreme power and incredible angles.Halep fought back to level but Williams forged ahead again and confidently served out the set.The 39-year-old, who is once again two matches away from finally equalling Margaret Court's record of 24 slam singles titles, made a shaky start to the second set, spraying unforced errors as Halep moved into a 3-1 lead. But the Romanian was unable to find the level to put doubts into Williams' mind and the 10th seed finished the match with a run of five games in a row. For Halep, who reached the semi-finals last year and was losing finalist in 2018, it was back to the drawing board as she looks to add to her two Grand Slam titles at the French Open and Wimbledon.Don't forget to follow us on skysports.com/tennis, our Twitter account @skysportstennis & Sky Sports - on the go!
