Both traded several knees while clinching up throughout the first five minutes, where, again, Grasso seemed to get the better of Barber in spite of the younger fighter’s speed.Grasso’s striking skills came forward in full early in the second round, as Grasso rocked Barber with a counter shot, rocking her until Barber got the fight back against the cage. Barber connected with a fair share of shots, including a kick to the body that led to Grasso going to the ground. It was there, however, where Grasso took Barber by surprise with superior grappling, nearly locking in an armbar, an arm triangle and a rear-naked choke before the horn.Barber came out aggressive in the third, looking for a big strike, but she ended up against the cage once again courtesy of Grasso. Barber, however, scored a takedown about two minutes into the final round, with Barber connecting with a knee as Grasso got back up. Barber swung wildly, desperate for a finish in the third round, pinning Grasso against the Octagon and landing hard shots in the clinch.
